This setting genome for FIST is intended to be an inspiration for referees, serving as a guide for a one-off or series of missions. You are encouraged to expand upon the situations presented here, using them as a starting point for your adventures. This supplement includes a map, enemies and NPCs, as well as a themed Mission Generator, allowing you and your players to start playing quickly.

WELCOME TO THE 'PEN
Officially known as The Albert Penchild Research Facility, this installation goes by another name - The 'Pen. Owned and operated by Varma Industries, the facility presents itself as a wildlife rehabilitation center. However, the unfortunate animals that end up at The 'Pen never experience recovery or rehabilitation. Instead, they are designated as 'inmates' and treated as such.

The intentions of Varma's research at The 'Pen remain a mystery. However, amidst these enigmatic endeavors, FIST has found cause for concern and is now assembling a team for investigation.

The Pen is a FIST mission themed around animal research.

The PDF is 2 pages, with a well organized, easy to read layout and some helpful graphics and nice interior art.

The mission is GM-friendly in its design, and it includes multiple hooks, complications, and a hook generator.

For the most part, the meat of The Pen consists of a few scraps against mutated animals in a military industrial environment, but the concept for The Pen is nicely creepy and there are a lot of opportunities to weave elements from The Pen into other missions, stretching its shadow across a longer campaign narrative.

Overall, if you're looking to include mutated animals in your campaign, or if you want a new-player-friendly mission environment to drop a oneshot team into, The Pen is a great pick. It's absolutely worth adding to your FIST missions dossier.
